Summary

The Add to Any: Subscribe Button plugin adds a widget to the IT Tuesday homepage sidebar that allows users to easily subscribe to the site via their favorite RSS reader or via email subscription. This is one of the simpler plugins with a clear purpose and setup.

Use

Once this plugin is installed, all it takes is to add it as a widget and then it shows up in the sidebar. When doing this within the Wordpress Admin, the widget appears without a header. As such, this widget has been added to the template pages using the code the plugin provides for custom placement. So, in /itnews/wp-content/themes/yourblog-20-theme/index.php the code is placed within the second sidebar.

There are a few settings that modify the widget that will display. The most prominent one is to change the size and look of the image, including an option to upload a custom image to display. The rest govern what happens when a user clicks the add to subscribe button.

Upgrade

This plugin is updated frequently and thus requires frequent upgrades. However, it is a very simple upgrade with no customizations and very little risk of inadvertently harming anything. Simply deactivate the plugin, replace the files with the upgrade, and reactivate.
