There are five statuses for any given article: draft, pending review, ready repository, next week, this week.
Draft articles are those that are in the process of being written by the author, but have not been submitted to be published. Draft articles can remain in draft for an indefinite period of time and authors can have any number of articles in draft.
Pending Review articles are those that are waiting to be edited by the InfoTech Tuesday editors. Once an author has completed an article, s/he is to submit it for review by saving it as "Pending Review". So long as it is in Pending Review, it has not yet been edited and it has not been determined what issue it will be published in.
Ready Repository articles are those that have been written by the author, edited by the editors, and are waiting to be published in a yet to be determined issue. This is for articles that are a part of a long series of articles that are published once weekly or articles that don't fit into the following two issues.
Next Issue articles are those that have been written and edited and will be published in the following week's issue. These articles do not fit into the current issue and thus will be published next week.
This Issue articles are those that have been written, edited, and are slated to be published in the current week's issue. Authors wanting to be published in the current week, but are unsure if they will be, can look to this status widget.
In the administrative dashboard, there are widgets all of these statuses by the Ready Repository. These widgets list the articles that are in each of the statuses. In addition, there is a "My Articles" widget on each author's Dashboard that shows the status of their articles.
