Summary

The Extended User Profile plugin adds fields to the user profile pages of all users so that different information can be captured about the users than the default Wordpress fields. This enables the customization of information on the user profile page which is then fed out to the individual author pages on the website front end.

Use

This plugin has no user interface or settings in the site admin. Instead, it is all configured in the .php file in the content/plugins folder. In the .php file, six custom fields and database entries are defined. These are then displayed on the users profile information page and on the users front end author page. While the plugin modifies the profile information template in the admin, the theme template modifies the author page on the front end by importing and displaying the new information fields.

Upgrade

Version 1.2.1 of this plugin is the current installed version. It is customized to InfoTech Tuesday's needs. There is a newer version of the plugin available, but it drastically changes the structure and functionality of the plugin. Therefore, so long as it continues to work properly (this could change with future Wordpress versions), version 1.2.1 should be maintained. If updated, the custom fields will be lost and the plugin will not function the same.
