Our Todo list

Summary

 

The Our Todo List plugin is a simple task management interface. It has the ability to add todos with priorities, check completed todos, edit todos, and display todos on the dashboard. Permissions for who has access to the todo list can be modified in the settings based on Wordpress roles.

 

Use

 

The todo list shows up on the dashboard at the bottom of the "Right Now" widget. It lists all todos yet to be completed followed by all completed todos. From here, users can mark todos as "done" or "undo" todos that are completed already. Whenever a user checks a todo, edits a todo, or creates a todo, their name will be listed next to the todo as the last person to have edited it.

 

 

In the dashboard widget, there is a link to add New Todos. Additionally, there is a link from the Dasboard navigation tab located at Dashboard > Our Todo List

 

 

To create a new todo, simply add one under "Add New Todo". There are three priority options that can be used for todos, "Important", "Normal", "Low". The listing of todos will sort itself based first on the priority and second on when the todo was created. Once todos are created, they can be edited by clicking "edit".

 

 

The settings can be found at Settings > OurTodo.

Upgrade

 

The last version of this plugin was created in January of 2007, so it is not likely to be updated. Being so old, numerous modifications were made to the plugin to make it compatible with the latest version of Wordpress and to customize the feel and functionality to IT Tuesday needs. As such, if there is an update simply upgrading the plugin will destroy the custom functionality. Instead, the new version will have to be compared to the version in use and migration of the custom elements will have to be made in order for it to work the same.
