Summary

The ShareThis plugin adds a javascript popup box to each article that allows users to share the content of the article in a multidude of formats and networks. It is configured on the ShareThis website, and then embedded in the plugin in Wordpress. ShareThis is a popular utility used on a wide array of popular and unpopular news and blog website.

Use

This plugin has one configuration page located at Settings > ShareThis. At the top of this page there is a textfield in which the ShareThis code must be entered. This code can be retrieved from the ShareThis website after logging and configuring the box to look and operate the way that works best. The existing ShareThis account can be access with the itnews.itac@gmail.com email and password.

Upgrade

There are no modifications to this plugin, so upgrading it is as simple as deactivating, replacing the files with the upgrade, and reactivating. The only catch with this plugin is that the widget code may need to be re-entered after upgrade. Therefore, after completing the file transfer and reactivation, check the share this icons on the site to see if it is working properly. If not, go to ShareThis and retrieve the code.
